ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 23rd, 2025) Preparations are in full swing for the second marriage of Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, with the wedding scheduled for January.
Former National Assembly member Sheikh Roohail Asghar confirmed in a recent interview that Junaid Safdar is set to marry his granddaughter, Shanze.
Speaking about the family connection, Roohail Asghar said, “My granddaughter Shanze is a close friend of Mahnoor, the youngest daughter of Maryam Nawaz. Their families frequently visit each other, and that is how they developed a liking for my granddaughter.”
He added, “One day, Maryam’s family sent a message to my son expressing their desire to visit. After the visit, both families met again, and the marriage proposal was finalized.”
Roohail Asghar revealed that the engagement took place two to three months ago, and the wedding is now scheduled for January 16, 17, and 18, which will be celebrated with grandeur.
He also stated that only close family and friends have been invited to the ceremony.
It may be mentioned here that Junaid Safdar had confirmed his divorce from his first wife via Instagram in October 2023.
