Toshakhana II written verdict: Imran given reduced sentence due to advanced age, Bushra for being a woman

Special Judge Central Arjumand Shah sentences Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to a cumulative 17 years of imprisonment each and imposes a fine of Rs164 million in the Toshakhana II case

RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 20th, 2025) The written verdict in the Toshakhana II case against former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi has been released, stating that reduced sentences were awarded to the convicts considering Imran Khan’s advanced age and Bushra Bibi being a woman.

Special Judge Central Arjumand Shah sentenced Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to a cumulative 17 years of imprisonment each and imposed a fine of Rs164 million in the Toshakhana II case.

The written judgment ruled that the prosecution successfully proved its case, and both accused were found guilty of criminal breach of trust. The court ruled that the charges against the convicts stood fully established.

The verdict held that Imran Khan was awarded 10 years’ imprisonment under Section 409 of the Pakistan Penal Code, while an additional seven years’ imprisonment was imposed under the Prevention of Corruption Act, taking his total sentence to 17 years.

Bushra Bibi was also sentenced to 17 years in prison. The court imposed a fine of Rs164,256,650 on each convict, with an additional six months’ imprisonment in case of non-payment of the fine.

The written decision further noted that the court awarded the minimum possible sentence in view of Imran Khan’s age and Bushra Bibi’s status as a woman.

The period already spent by the convicts in custody was also ordered to be counted towards the completion of their sentences.

The Toshakhana II case pertains to allegations of criminal misconduct involving state gifts, in which both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were held responsible following a trial conducted at Adiala Jail.
