Verbal clash erupts between Aleem Khan and Senator Palwasha in Senate Communications body

Altercation began when Senator Palwasha Khan questioned minister, prompting Abdul Aleem Khan to retort sharply, stating, “If you respect us, we will respect you. You people point fingers at caste.”

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 19th, 2025) A National Assembly Standing Committee on Communications meeting turned chaotic as a heated verbal exchange erupted between Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and Senator Palwasha Khan on Thursday.

The altercation began when Senator Palwasha Khan questioned the minister, prompting Abdul Aleem Khan to retort sharply, stating, “If you respect us, we will respect you. You people point fingers at caste.” The argument escalated when Abdul Aleem Khan told Palwasha Khan to “shut up,” to which she responded, “You shut up.” The minister further added, “All the dishonest people of the world have gathered here,” intensifying the confrontation.

Senator Palwasha Khan later appealed to the committee chairman, demanding a ruling on what she described as the minister’s misconduct, asking, “Is it a crime to mention the name of a private housing society? I only asked a question.”

The situation prompted intervention from the committee chairman, following which Abdul Aleem Khan apologized. Senator Pervaiz Rasheed attempted to mediate between the two but was unable to fully calm the tension. The meeting resumed after order was restored by the chairman.

This incident highlights the growing friction between committee members during parliamentary proceedings, raising concerns about decorum and conduct in legislative forums.
