Imran Khan’s sons apply for visas, plan Pakistan visit in January 2026

Statement comes amid renewed restrictions on Imran Khan’s family as his sisters were once again denied permission to meet him in Adiala Jail

LONDON: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 17th, 2025) Qasim Khan, son of PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has announced that he and his brother, Suleman Khan, have applied for visas and are planning to visit Pakistan in January.

Qasim made the remarks during an interview with British broadcaster Sky news.

The statement comes amid renewed restrictions on Imran Khan’s family as his sisters were once again denied permission to meet him in Adiala Jail. PTI has alleged that authorities used water cannons mixed with chemicals against them. The party and Imran Khan’s family have expressed concern over the conditions in which the former Prime Minister is being held.

During the interview, Qasim and Suleman, who reside in London, were asked whether they had tried contacting the Pakistani government to seek permission to meet their father. This followed a statement by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif a few months ago indicating that they “could come” to meet Imran Khan.

Qasim replied, “We are now making plans because they [authorities] have openly said so. As long as they stick to that, we hope to go in January. We have applied for our visas; they have not arrived yet, but we expect the process to be completed, so we are planning our visit in January.”

The interviewer then asked what they would discuss with Imran Khan and whether they might ask him to consider “any deal,” apparently hinting at potential negotiations for his release.

Qasim responded, “What you should understand is that this is his life. This is his passion and purpose. Imran Khan considers it his life’s mission to rid Pakistan of corruption. If he were to make a deal and stay in England, I know it would distress him that he abandoned his country to ruin, and he would fall into depression. This is his purpose, far greater than cricket or football, and it deserves respect.”

When asked what message they would like to convey to their father, Qasim said, “I want to know how we can get him out and how we can help because right now we feel very helpless. There is much to discuss.”

He added that during their previous conversations, Imran Khan rarely spoke about his own conditions and would always ask after family members. “Since our grandmother passed away two months ago, I would like to talk to him about it. After his mother’s death, she became like a mother to him, and they shared a very close bond,” Qasim said.

Regarding whether they believe their father will ever be released, Qasim said the situation appears increasingly grim. “The circumstances are worsening, and those in power are growing stronger. Finding a solution seems very difficult. Every time we speak to people, their confidence seems to diminish,” he said.

Suleman added, “Imran Khan is not the kind of person to compromise or make a deal. At present, it may seem like the only easy way, but I believe international pressure is always an effective method to bring about change in such circumstances.”
