Authorities have tightened security at Adelaide Oval ahead of the third Ashes Test starting December 17, following a deadly shooting incident in Sydney.
SYDNEY: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Dec,15, 2025) Following a recent shooting incident in Sydney, authorities have decided to enhance security arrangements for the third Test of the Ashes series in Adelaide.
The third Test match between Australia and England is scheduled to begin on December 17 at the Adelaide Oval. According to Australian media reports, officials have confirmed the deployment of additional security personnel outside the stadium.
South Australia Police Commissioner Grant Stevens stated that the Security Response Section is being deployed for the event. He explained that the Response Section consists of highly trained police officers equipped with additional weaponry to deal with potential threats.
The police commissioner further noted that the Response Section was established a few years ago to operate in public places. For the upcoming Test match, the unit will be stationed around the stadium to ensure the safety of spectators.
It is worth noting that at least 15 people have been killed so far in the shooting incident that occurred at a beach in Sydney.
