RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 11th, 2025) Former Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed, has been sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment by a Field General Court Martial, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Thursday.
According to ISPR, the Field General Court Martial was initiated under the Pakistan Army Act and the proceedings continued for 15 months. The military court concluded the process by awarding a 14-year rigorous prison term.
ISPR stated that the accused faced four charges, including involvement in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of authority and government resources, and causing unlawful harm to relevant individuals.
After an extensive and exhaustive legal process, the court found Faiz Hameed guilty on all charges. The sentence will take effect from December 11, 2025.
The ISPR emphasised that all legal formalities were fulfilled during the court martial proceedings, and the accused was given full legal rights, including the option to appoint a team of defence lawyers.
The military’s media wing added that matters pertaining to the accused’s alleged collusion with political elements, political disruption, and destabilisation efforts are being examined separately.
Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed previously served as DG ISI and also held the position of Peshawar Corps Commander.
