LONDON: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 8th, 2025) Ahead of the 11th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), a high-profile roadshow was held at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, attracting prominent figures from the cricketing world and beyond.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and other dignitaries attended the event, which showcased the league’s global appeal.

The roadshow featured several former and current cricketers including Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja, Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, and Sahibzada Farhan. Singer Ali Zafar, international investors, and commercial partners also participated.

During a panel discussion, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the board’s vision for the PSL, stating, “Our top priority is to make HBL PSL the number one league in the world. We are investing generously in our players. Pakistan comes first, and those investing in the PSL receive significant benefits.”

Naqvi also announced plans to build cricket stadiums in Muzaffarabad and Islamabad and revealed that weekly musical concerts will be organized during the PSL season. He added that a roadshow is planned in New York, and an OTT platform for PSL content will be launched soon. “Despite challenges, we have worked tirelessly to promote and improve cricket in Pakistan,” he said.

Highlighting the league’s role in nurturing talent, Naqvi said, “The PSL gives young players a platform to hone their skills, and rewards and recognition boost their motivation.”

Pakistan High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal described the roadshow at Lord’s as a “historic success,” noting that sports are increasingly playing a key role in diplomacy.

Babar Azam, national team captain, said, “Playing alongside senior cricketers has taught me invaluable lessons. Experienced players guide younger talent, acting as academies themselves. The successful organization of the PSL is a major achievement for Pakistan cricket.”

Sahibzada Farhan added that domestic cricket is crucial for developing skills, and the PSL provides players opportunities to learn from international stars.

Haris Rauf, national team fast bowler, said, “The PSL is an integral part of our lives. It has given my career a new direction, and representing Pakistan is a matter of immense pride.”

The roadshow at Lord’s highlighted the PSL’s growing international footprint and its status as a premier global cricket league ahead of its 11th season.
