LODHRAN: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 6th, 2025) A heartbreaking incident occurred in the Dhanot area of Lodhran, where a 7-year-old boy tragically lost his life after falling into an open manhole.
The rescue officials said that the child, identified as Rehan, was with his father, who had taken him to get breakfast.
As the father walked ahead, Rehan was following him when he accidentally fell into an uncovered manhole.
The rescue teams arrived at the scene and took two hours to recover Rehan’s body from the manhole. The tragedy shocked the local community and highlighted concerns over public safety, particularly the dangers posed by open manholes and construction sites.
The police registered a case against the contractor and the sub-engineer responsible for the ongoing roadwork in the area. Both individuals have been accused of negligence in ensuring that the manhole was properly covered and secured.
The incident raised serious concerns over safety measures on construction sites and the need for stricter enforcement of regulations to prevent such accidents in the future.
