Court rejects remand requests in Imaan Fatima's hair-cutting case

Court instead orders both suspects to be sent on judicial remand to jail

RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 5th, 2025) A local court on Friday rejected requests for the physical remand and discharge of two accused individuals in the case involving TikToker Imaan Fatima, whose hair was allegedly cut by the accused.

The court instead ordered both suspects to be sent on judicial remand to jail.

The case was heard by Civil Judge Sofia Malik, who ruled that the two accused—identified as Anis, alias Durrani, and Jalil, alias Mithu—should be sent to jail on judicial remand.

The court also accepted the bail applications of the two accused, scheduling a hearing for tomorrow, Saturday, December 6, to review the case records.

The Investigating Officer (IO) informed the court that the scissors used to cut Iman Fatima’s hair still need to be recovered from the accused. Meanwhile, the defense lawyer argued that the complainant, Iman Fatima, was absent and had refused to pursue the case further.

Imaan Fatima herself, when questioned, stated that she did not wish to follow up on the case and had not filed the complaint herself. She confirmed that the incident occurred two months ago but expressed no interest in continuing with the legal proceedings.

The father of one of the accused, Jalil, shared that his son was initially arrested by the Loi Bheer Police Station in Islamabad in connection with the case. He further claimed that the case had been resolved amicably and a settlement was reached at that time.

However, according to Jalil’s father Sher Dil Khan, the Naseerabad police arrested his son, Jalil, again late last night while he was at home. Sher Dil Khan stated that his sons had previously been detained by the police for five days but were released after the case was settled. Now, he alleges, they have been arrested again.
