Dr. Uzma Khan was taken to jail in a special vehicle from checkpoint after Adiala jail superintendent allowed one person meeting

RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 2nd, 2025) After 29 days, a meeting took place between PTI founder Imran Khan and his sister Uzma Khan in Adiala Jail. Uzma Khan says Imran Khan’s health is alhamdulillah fine.

Imran Khan met his sister Uzma Khan today. Dr. Uzma Khan left alone for Adiala Jail through Gate No. 5.

The superintendent of Adiala Jail conveyed that only a one-person meeting was allowed. Dr. Uzma Khan was taken to the jail in a special vehicle from the checkpoint.

Jail authorities have restored meetings with the PTI founder after 29 days; however, Aleema Khan and Barrister Salman Akram Raja were not granted permission.

A heavy police contingent was deployed on the occasion, and some of the strictest security measures in the jail’s history were implemented.

A large number of PTI women and workers were present, and once the meeting was permitted, workers raised loud slogans.

In view of the meeting, Section 144 was imposed, and security was tightened. All educational institutions and shops on Adiala Road were ordered closed.

PTI also sent a list of six lawyer leaders to the jail authorities. The list included PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan, Salman Akram Raja, and Barrister Salman Safdar, along with Ali Zaman, Sardar Nabi, and Tallat Mahmood.

Uzma Khan: “Imran Khan was very angry”

After meeting her brother Imran Khan, Uzma Khan came out of Adiala Jail. Their meeting lasted 45 minutes. Speaking to the media, she said Imran Khan’s health is alhamdulillah fine and he is completely well.

According to Uzma Khan, the PTI founder said that he is neither allowed to talk to anyone nor meet anyone, and that this is mental torture. “One person is responsible for all of this,” he said.

Uzma Khan added that Imran Khan was very angry, saying he is kept locked in his room all day and only occasionally taken outside.

Section 144 imposed, security tightened

The district administration has imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi for three days, banning all political and religious gatherings. Due to the security situation, a high alert has been issued around Adiala Jail.

Five additional checkpoints have been set up on Adiala Jail Road, and a special security plan for the jail has been issued.

Extra police personnel will be deployed at Dahgal checkpoint, Gate 1, Gate 5, Factory checkpoint, and Gorakhpur, while SHOs of 12 police stations and female police personnel will also be stationed there. More than 700 police officers and personnel will be deployed for Adiala Jail’s security.

Security personnel will be equipped with anti-riot gear, and jail personnel will remain on standby. Vehicles will only be allowed to proceed on Adiala Jail Road after checking.

Police and law enforcement agencies will work together to maintain order. Legal action will be taken for any violation of Section 144.

Educational institutions closed

All private educational institutions in Gorakhpur and surrounding areas have also been closed. Due to the security situation, police have instructed traders in Gorakhpur Bazaar to keep their shops closed today.
