High courts delegation reviews LHC’s IT reforms, digital justice initiatives

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 1st, 2025) Following the kind directions of Chief Justice of Pakistan and decisions made during the 53rd session of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee (NJPMC), a delegation comprising representatives from the Information Technology (IT) wings of High Courts across Pakistan visited the Lahore High Court (LHC).

The visiting teams included representatives from the Sindh High Court, Karachi; Balochistan High Court, Quetta; and Islamabad High Court, while the Peshawar High Court representative participated via video link.

LHC Registrar Amjad Iqbal Ranjha received the delegation, accompanied by DG Judicial and Case Management Javed Iqbal Bosal. The delegation received a comprehensive briefing from the Additional Registrar of the LHC's IT Wing on the court's extensive portfolio of IT projects. A major focus of the briefing was the Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS), which connects all components of the criminal justice system—Police, Prosecution, Probation & Parole, Prisons, Forensic Agencies, and Medico-Legal Departments, with the District Judiciary, marking a revolutionary step toward complete justice delivery.

The briefing also covered other vital systems, including the Case Flow Management System (CFMS), Cause List Color Management, Case Proceeding Display System, Postal Processing System, and the Human Resource Management System (HRMS). Features of the HRMS highlighted were facial recognition-based attendance via a mobile application for LHC employees, complete employee profile management, Records Management System, HRMIS Leave Module, digitization of judicial transactions, barcode-based file tracking via mobile, and biometric verification for depositing surety bonds.

Furthermore, the Additional Registrar IT briefed the delegation on the LHC Employees Cards Software, website upgrades, a new section on the LHC website for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) implementation and contact center, LHC Job Portal upgrades, Storage and Stock Inventory Management System, the public complaints portal, and the Performance Monitoring System. The visiting delegation highly appreciated the revolutionary reforms in the LHC's IT Wing, emphasizing the need to leverage modern Information Technology to promote accountability and improve easy and effective access to justice through digital data governance, affirming that initiating such modern projects across all High Courts is a vital necessity of the time.
