Outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza emphasises that a strong national defence is essential for national security and said Pakistan’s defence remains impregnable
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Nov 26th, 2025) A farewell ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Joint Staff Headquarters in honour of outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, marking the completion of his four decades of service in the Pakistan Army.
Smart contingents of the Army, Navy and Air Force presented a guard of honour to the retiring CJCSC.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the ceremony was attended by former chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and senior officers of all three armed forces.
ISPR stated that Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza rendered 40 years of dedicated and distinguished service, holding key positions throughout his military career.
In his farewell address, Gen Mirza said he was grateful to Allah Almighty for granting him the strength to perform his duties with commitment, professional excellence and sincerity. He paid rich tribute to the Pakistan Army’s sacrifices in defending the country, and also offered profound respect to the martyrs and their families.
He emphasised that a strong national defence is essential for national security and said Pakistan’s defence remains impregnable. “Our brave officers and soldiers stand ready at all times to further strengthen the defence of the motherland,” the outgoing CJCSC added.
