Rawalpindi police arrest three after video of girl’s forced haircut goes viral

Video circulating on social media shows several individuals cutting a girl’s hair against her will

RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Nov 25th, 2025) The police on Tuesday arrested three suspects and registered a case after a video showing a girl being abducted, assaulted and having her hair forcibly cut went viral on social media.

The initial information suggested that the video circulating on social media showed several individuals cutting a girl’s hair against her will. The matter was first examined by the Federal police, but after it was confirmed that the incident took place in Rawalpindi, the case was transferred to Rawalpindi Police.

City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani formed a special team and directed legal action.

Police investigations revealed that the incident occurred near Christian Colony, close to Pani Wali Tanki. Based on this, a case was registered on behalf of the state under Sections 337(V) and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, with DFC Asad Hussain as the complainant.

In the FIR, Asad Hussain stated that while on duty, he saw the viral video of a girl’s hair being forcibly cut. He traced the girl’s identity to Iman Fatima, daughter of Muhammad Ibrahim, a resident of Dhoke Khaba, Rawalpindi. The accused allegedly cut the girl’s hair, filmed the act, and spread the video online.

Sub-Inspector Zulfiqar Haider has been appointed the investigation officer. Police said that during late-night raids, three suspects were arrested while efforts to nab the remaining accused were under way.

Meanwhile, the victim, in her video statement, alleged that 4 to 5 men and 4 women—including a girl named Sana—were involved in the harassment and abuse.

The police officials said the case has been registered and investigation is ongoing, adding that the more facts will emerge during the probe. CPO Khalid Hamdani said violence, coercion and exploitation against women will not be tolerated, and all those involved will be brought to justice.
