Council; new members appointed to Judicial Commission and Practice & Procedure Committee.

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov,18, 2025) Following the 27th Amendment, the Supreme Judicial Council, Judicial Commission, and Practice & Procedure Committee have been reconstituted. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi has been appointed as the head of the Judicial Council.

The reconstitution was carried out by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and the Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court. Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan of the Federal Shariat Court will serve as the second senior member of the Judicial Council.

Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, and Justice Jamal Mandokhail have been appointed as members of the Judicial Council. Additionally, Justice Aamir Farooq of the Federal Shariat Court has been included in the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.

According to a Supreme Court statement, Justice Jamal Mandokhail will also serve on the Practice & Procedure Committee. The updated 2025 rules aim to provide faster, more affordable justice.
