Per tola gold falls by RS7,000; 10g gold down by RS6,002 amid global demand and rupee depreciation.
KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov,18, 2025) On the second day of the business week, gold prices in Pakistan saw a significant decline.
According to the Exchange Dealers Association, the price of gold per tola fell by Rs 7,000 to Rs 423,662 on Tuesday. Similarly, 10 grams of gold became cheaper by Rs 6,002, trading at Rs 363,221. No changes in gold prices were reported the previous day.
The rise in gold prices in Pakistan is primarily due to increasing global demand and depreciation of the Pakistani rupee. Geopolitical risks, economic slowdowns, and increased purchases by central banks are also driving up gold prices globally. Expectations of a future cut in US interest rates further support this trend.
Global financial firm Morgan Stanley predicts that gold could reach $4,500 per ounce by mid-2026, up from around $4,000 per ounce currently. Their report notes that strong purchases by ETFs and central banks, along with ongoing global economic uncertainty, are key drivers.
The report also mentioned that the recent surge in gold prices had pushed it into an “overbought” zone, but the subsequent slight correction has stabilized market positioning. Morgan Stanley expects further investments in gold-backed ETFs and continued, albeit slower, central bank buying.
