RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Nov 14th, 2025) Sri Lanka posted a competitive total of 288 runs for eight wickets in the second One-Day International (ODI) on Thursday, setting Pakistan a target of 289 to level the series.
After being sent in to bat first at the Rawalpindi cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka built their innings around a steady half-century from Janith Liyanage, who top-scored with 54 runs. Kamindu Mendis added 44, while Sadeera Samarawickrama contributed 42 to keep the scoreboard moving.
Other notable contributions came from Kamal Mishara (27), Pathum Nissanka (24) and Kusal Mendis (20). Captain Charith Asalanka was dismissed for 6, while Dushmantha Chameera fell without scoring.
In the final overs, Wanindu Hasaranga played a valuable unbeaten knock of 37, supported by Pramod Madushan on 11 not out, helping Sri Lanka reach 288 in their allotted 50 overs.
