President, PM, and top PML-N leaders pay tribute to late Senator Irfan Siddiqui, praising his political, journalistic, and intellectual contributions.
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov,11, 2025) Leaders across the government and the Pakistan Muslim League-N expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Senator Irfan Siddiqui, a noted PML-N figure and former adviser to the prime minister, paying rich tribute to his political, journalistic, and intellectual contributions.
President Asif Ali Zardari offered condolences, calling Siddiqui a distinguished personality whose services for democracy in Pakistan were invaluable. He prayed for the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan has lost a serious thinker, teacher, and principled intellectual. He noted that Siddiqui’s writings and character were always centred on knowledge, patience, and reason. The PM added that Siddiqui was a key member of PML-N and a close companion whose contributions would always be remembered.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif termed Siddiqui’s death a great tragedy, calling him a sincere and trusted brother. He said Siddiqui’s pen and fearless thought were vital to Pakistan’s politics and journalism, and his passing marked the loss of a humble and brilliant mind.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the late senator upheld high traditions in both journalism and politics, and his services would never be forgotten. He prayed for his eternal peace.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said Pakistan’s political landscape has lost a respected and dignified leader. She described Siddiqui as an embodiment of political grace whose services would always be honoured.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also expressed grief, praising Siddiqui as a principled, refined, and articulate figure who represented decency and dignity in politics.
