Hospitalised with breathing issues; expected to miss today’s Senate vote on 27th Amendment.
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov,10, 2025) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to severe respiratory complications.
According to his family, the senator has been under treatment at a local hospital in Islamabad for the past several days after experiencing serious breathing difficulties.
Sources say that due to his illness, Senator Irfan Siddiqui will not be able to participate in the voting on the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
A day earlier, the joint parliamentary committee of the Senate and National Assembly approved all 49 clauses of the proposed amendment, and the draft is expected to be presented in the Senate today.
Meanwhile, the united opposition has rejected the 27th Amendment and announced a protest movement, vowing to obstruct parliamentary proceedings in response.
