Lyari’s U-16 team makes history, finishing runners-up against Thailand in Asia’s biggest youth football tournament.
SINGAPORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov,7, 2025) Pakistan’s Lyari Football academy created history by winning the silver medal at the Singapore Cup Youth Football Tournament, one of Asia’s largest youth events.
In the Boys Under-16 final, Lyari’s young footballers put up a strong fight against Thailand, ultimately losing 1–2. Muzzammil scored the only goal for the Pakistani side.
Founder of Lyari Football Academy, Sheikh Abdul Rahman, praised the team’s performance, saying it was “a victory of spirit, not a loss.” He lauded the players for their passion and determination, adding that this achievement marks the beginning of a new journey for Lyari’s youth.
He vowed that efforts would continue to raise Pakistan’s name in international football, showcasing the talent that emerges from the historic streets of Lyari.
