Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif meets coalition leaders today to finalize consensus ahead of the 27th Constitutional Amendment’s approval on November 14.
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov,6 , 2025) Prime minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet leaders of coalition parties today to discuss the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment.
According to sources, the high-level meeting will be held this evening at the Prime Minister’s House, where consultations on the draft amendment will take place. During the session, the Prime Minister will brief all allied parties and seek their confidence regarding the amendment.
Sources revealed that the government plans to have the 27th Constitutional Amendment passed by the National Assembly on November 14. To ensure full participation, all ministers and members of parliament have been directed to cancel their foreign visits.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the National Assembly has already held consultations with parliamentary leaders of various parties and approved the session’s agenda and schedule. However, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary leaders did not attend the meeting.
PPP leaders to meet Prime Minister
In efforts to build consensus on the amendment, a delegation of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today. The meeting will take place before the PPP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting, where the party will finalize its stance on the proposed amendment.
According to sources, the PPP delegation will travel to Karachi via a special flight after the meeting with the Prime Minister. The delegation includes Farooq H. Naek, Murtaza Wahab, Irfan Qadir, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Naveed Qamar, and Sherry Rehman.
On behalf of the government, the Prime Minister will be accompanied by Ishaq Dar, Azam Nazir Tarar, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, and Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan.
MQM delegation arrives at PM House
A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement–Pakistan (MQM-P), led by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, has also arrived at the Prime Minister’s House to present its recommendations for inclusion in the constitutional amendment.
Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party meets Prime Minister
Separately, a delegation from the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) also met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During the meeting, the Prime Minister briefed the party’s leadership on the objectives and details of the 27th Amendment and sought their support.
