Pakistan’s foreign policy advancing: Khawaja Asif

Defense Minister says Pakistan’s ties with the US, China, Saudi Arabia, and UAE are improving, marking a new diplomatic phase.

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov,3rd , 2025) Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan’s foreign policy has entered a new and progressive phase, with improving relations with the United States, China, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Speaking at a seminar organized by the Institute of Regional Studies in Islamabad, Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan is now emerging as a reliable global partner. He noted that Pakistan’s ties with Saudi Arabia have entered a new era, with the Kingdom increasing its investments in multiple sectors.

He added that Pakistan’s relations with Qatar and the UAE are being termed exemplary, built on mutual trust and understanding. “China remains Pakistan’s all-weather friend, and both countries are committed to advancing work on CPEC Phase III,” he said.

The defense minister highlighted that Pakistan has improved its connectivity with Central Asian countries, including Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, while strengthening relations with Turkey and Iran. He further noted that Pakistan has emerged as a strong voice against Islamophobia and is focused on reforms that reflect confidence and stability in its diplomacy.

Khawaja Asif also said that ties with the United States have improved significantly and praised Pakistani diplomats for their commendable work. “Foreign policy is our top priority, and we are determined to strengthen relations with the world,” he emphasized.

Former Federal minister Khurram Dastgir, also speaking at the event, said that after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s failed plans to attack Pakistan, the country emerged stronger. He observed that Pakistan’s diplomacy is improving and lauded diplomats for their effective efforts.

He added that through the SCO conference, regional cooperation has increased, and Pakistan’s leadership — now under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir — is engaging new partners who seek collaboration with Pakistan.

“Leadership dynamics have changed,” Dastgir remarked. “The world is amazed by China’s technological progress. Pakistan’s diplomacy and strategic approach have reshaped the geopolitical environment,” he concluded.
