Babar Azam surpassed Rohit Sharma to become the highest run-scorer in T20 Internationals with 4,234 runs.
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov, 1st , 2025) Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has achieved another major milestone by breaking the world record of India’s former skipper Rohit Sharma for scoring the most runs in T20 Internationals.
Babar accomplished this feat during the second T20 match against South Africa in Lahore, where he surpassed Sharma’s total after reaching his ninth run of the innings.
Rohit Sharma had amassed 4,231 runs in 159 T20 International matches, while Babar Azam needed just nine runs before the game to overtake him.
With this achievement, Babar now tops the list of all-time leading run-scorers in T20 Internationals, having scored 4,234 runs in 130 matches.
