Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry elaborates on prevailing Pakistan-Afghanistan border situation, country’s internal security environment and ongoing efforts in fight against terrorism and extremism
ABBOTTABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Oct 31st, 2025) Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has once again reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army is fully committed to the defence of the nation, warning that any external aggression will be met with a “severe and decisive response.”
The DG ISPR made these remarks during an interactive session with faculty members and students of various universities in Abbottabad. The session, attended by a large number of academics and students, focused on key national and regional security issues.
During the discussion, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif elaborated on the prevailing Pakistan-Afghanistan border situation, the country’s internal security environment, and ongoing efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism. He said Pakistan has taken effective measures to counter terrorism and the menace of fitna-e-khawarij (rebellious extremists), reaffirming the armed forces’ resolve to ensure lasting peace.
The participants paid rich tribute to the martyrs and veterans of Pakistan’s armed forces for their sacrifices in defending the homeland.
Hazara University Vice Chancellor Dr Ikramullah Khan praised the Pakistan Army as a true symbol of patriotism, stating that “the army always stands on the front line for the country, and we stand shoulder to shoulder with it.”
The faculty members expressed concern over growing hostile propaganda aimed at misleading the younger generation, stressing the need to provide students with accurate and verified information to counter disinformation campaigns.
The students also voiced pride in the armed forces, saying they feel honored to live in a country where institutions like the Pakistan Army inspire and guide the youth.
They said the DG ISPR’s candid responses helped dispel misconceptions about national and provincial affairs as well as the role of the armed forces, enabling them to better understand the reality behind social media misinformation.
