Builders’ delegation urges KDA to act against encroachments, calls for digital land records.
KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,31, 2025) A delegation of the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) met with Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Director General Asif Jan Siddiqui and identified multiple cases of illegal land occupation and encroachments across the city.
According to Express news, the meeting, led by ABAD Senior Vice Chairman Syed Afzal Hameed, focused on discussions regarding the digitalization of KDA land records and actions against illegal land grabs.
During the meeting, ABAD highlighted ongoing encroachments and illegal occupations in Surjani Town, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, and Korangi, urging the KDA to take immediate and indiscriminate action against the land mafia.
Afzal Hameed called for a comprehensive survey report and strict measures to protect public land, stating that safeguarding urban land from illegal possession is crucial for sustainable urban development.
He emphasized that effective and long-term strategies are essential to eliminate land encroachments and demanded a zero-tolerance policy against those involved in such illegal activities.
