ISTANBUL: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,25, 2025) The second round of Pakistan-Afghanistan peace talks, hosted by Tukiye, has begun in Istanbul.
Delegations from both countries are meeting at a local hotel to review progress on the points agreed upon during the first round of talks in Doha.
According to sources, the Afghan delegation is led by Deputy Interior Minister Rahmatullah Mujib and includes senior officials such as Anas Haqqani, Noor Ahmad Noor, Defense Ministry official Noor Rehman Nusrat, and the spokesperson of the Afghan Foreign Ministry.
Pakistan’s two-member security delegation is participating in the talks, presenting proposals on curbing cross-border attacks, monitoring mechanisms, and finalizing a joint framework.
The first round of talks was held in Doha, where Pakistan had extended a ceasefire at the Taliban’s request. Meanwhile, border crossings at Chaman, Khyber, Waziristan, and Kurram remain closed for the 14th consecutive day due to ongoing tensions, leaving hundreds of trucks stranded on both sides.
