Pakistan Navy’s PNS Yarmouk seized narcotics worth $972 million during an anti-drug operation under Saudi-led CTF-150 in the North Arabian Sea.
ISLAMABAD: (UruPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,22, 2025) The Pakistan Navy carried out a successful anti-narcotics operation, seizing drugs worth 972 million US Dollars in the North Arabian Sea.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Navy ship PNS Yarmouk conducted the operation under the Saudi-led Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150). The operation is a major achievement in combating illegal smuggling and promoting maritime security.
The ISPR spokesperson said the success highlights the Pakistan Navy’s firm commitment to regional maritime security, global peace, and the fight against illegal trafficking. The operation was conducted as part of the Combined Maritime Forces, which focus on ensuring maritime stability and countering terrorism and unlawful activities at sea.
The statement further added that this success reinforces Pakistan’s role as a responsible maritime partner, contributing actively to peace and stability across the wider Indian Ocean region.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf lauded the crew of PNS Yarmouk for their professionalism and dedication, stating that the Navy will continue safeguarding national maritime interests while supporting global efforts for collective maritime security.
The President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, also congratulated the Pakistan Navy on the successful operation, calling it a matter of national pride and a testament to the Navy’s excellence and commitment to peace in the region. He praised the joint efforts under Saudi leadership as a fine example of mutual cooperation and said the Navy’s success enhances Pakistan’s global image and credibility.
