PML-N announces exit from Azad Kashmir government, vows to sit in opposition and seek fresh elections.
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,21, 2025) The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has announced its separation from the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government.
President of PML-N AJK, Shah Ghulam Qadir, stated that if the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) moves a no-confidence motion, it is their democratic right, but the PML-N will not be part of any new government.
He emphasized that the party would not support any “unnatural” government formation and would now sit in the opposition. He warned that any member deviating from the party’s policy would face disciplinary action.
Shah Ghulam Qadir added that a new government is only possible through transparent general elections. He said PML-N AJK remains active for the welfare of refugees and overseas Kashmiris and has emerged as a well-organized and popular political party.
The PML-N AJK president affirmed that the party would continue to play a constructive role in resolving constitutional and political crises, adding that a strong government in Azad Kashmir can only be established through general elections. He concluded that under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, the party would run a vigorous election campaign.
