Military’s media wing says the army has killed several militants
RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Oct 15th, 2025) Pakistan Army successfully repelled coordinated attacks by Afghan Taliban and militants of the Fitna al-Khawarij group in the Spin Boldak area near Chaman, killing several attackers, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Afghan Taliban launched a “brutal and unprovoked” assault early Wednesday morning at four different locations along the Spin Boldak sector of Balochistan.
Pakistani forces, however, effectively retaliated and foiled the attacks, eliminating multiple terrorists.
The ISPR stated that the assault was organized through local, divided settlements on the Afghan side without regard for civilian safety. The Taliban also destroyed the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate, which facilitates border trade and cross-border tribal movement, reflecting their “irresponsible and hostile intent,” the statement added.
During Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes, between 15 and 20 Afghan Taliban fighters were killed and several others wounded. The situation in the area remained tense, with reports of additional Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij deployments near the border staging points.
The ISPR clarified that the Spin Boldak assault was not an isolated event. On the night of October 14 and 15, Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij militants had also attempted to attack Pakistani border posts in the Kurram sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but were effectively repelled.
In the counteraction, Pakistani forces inflicted heavy losses on the attackers, destroying eight posts including six tanks and killing an estimated 25 to 30 militants.
Rejecting Afghan Taliban’s claims that the aggression originated from the Pakistani side, the ISPR described the allegations as “malicious and blatant lies,” asserting that the facts clearly expose such propaganda.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, warning that any act of aggression will be met with a firm and decisive response.
