Military’s media wing says Major Sibtain Haider was leading operation from the front and embraced martyrdom while fighting gallantly
RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Oct 9th, 2025) A Pakistan Army officer, Major Sibtain Haider, was martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) against Indian-sponsored terrorists in Dera Ismail Khan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.
The ISPR said that the operation was launched in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan following reports regarding the presence of Indian-backed Khawarij militants. During the intense exchange of fire, seven terrorists were killed by the security forces.
The ISPR said Major Sibtain Haider was leading the operation from the front and embraced martyrdom while fighting gallantly. The 30-year-old officer hailed from District Quetta.
The statement reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism from the country and that the sacrifices of the nation’s brave soldiers further strengthen the country’s resolve to ensure lasting peace and stability.
