Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders confirm removal of Ali Amin Gandapur as KP CM
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Oct 8th, 2025) PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has confirmed the removal of Ali Amin Gandapur from the position of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and announced that Suhail Afridi has been nominated as the province’s new chief minister.
The confirmation was also made by Bushra Bibi’s lawyer, Rai Suleman.
However, Ali Amin Gandapur stated that he has not yet received any official notification regarding his resignation. He described the chief ministership as a trust of the party and PTI Chairman Imran Khan and said he would step down whenever instructed.
Who is Suhail Afridi, the expected new KP CM?
Suhail Afridi, hailing from District Khyber, was elected to the Provincial Assembly from the same district for the first time in the 2024 general elections. He has previously served as the president of the Insaf Students Federation in KP for a considerable period.
In the current government, Afridi served as the Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Communication and Works. Following a provincial cabinet reshuffle, he was appointed Minister for Higher education. He is also a member of PTI’s Central Executive Committee.
