India may strike Pakistan again, warns Ex-NSA

Former National Security Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Nasser Janjua cautioned that India could launch another missile attack on Pakistan, urging vigilance amid regional tensions.

LAHORE:(UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,6 ,2025) Former National Security Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Nasser Khan Janjua has warned that India may once again launch a missile attack on Pakistan, urging the government and defense institutions to remain vigilant.

He made these remarks while speaking at a seminar titled “Pakistan’s Recent Diplomatic Successes, Future Prospects, and Upcoming Defense Strategy.”

Lt Gen (Retd) Janjua said that India is fully aware of Pakistan’s possession of state-of-the-art missile technology and its ability to respond effectively to any hostile move. “After the recent conflicts, Pakistan and its armed forces have earned greater global respect, while India has become increasingly isolated,” he said.

The former adviser added that the United States has eliminated much of the Muslim world’s leadership and devastated countries like Iraq, Libya, Egypt, and Syria, while also targeting Iran. “Pakistan is the only Islamic nuclear power in the Muslim world, which is why it remains a major concern for its enemies,” he remarked.

Highlighting regional tensions, Janjua warned that “India’s internal political situation makes it impossible to rule out the likelihood of another attack on Pakistan.”

Air Marshal (Retd) Sajid Habib, while addressing the seminar, termed the India-backed banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) a global threat. He warned, “If India attacks this time, we will shoot down 70 of their aircraft.”

Foreign affairs analyst Muhammad Mehdi described Pakistan’s balanced relations with both China and the United States as a diplomatic achievement, but noted that “much work still needs to be done.”

He added that the U.S. does not perceive the Afghan Taliban or TTP as threats and that work on the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has not progressed as rapidly as expected. Mehdi emphasized the urgent need for capacity building to strengthen Pakistan’s economy and attract foreign investment. “No major foreign investment has arrived yet,” he noted, stressing that institutions like the Foreign Office must enhance their capabilities to address emerging regional challenges.

Rear Admiral (Retd) N.A. Rizvi of the Pakistan Navy warned that Pakistan will continue to face serious security threats until Gwadar Port becomes fully operational. However, he reassured that Pakistan’s maritime defenses remain robust.

Senior analyst Salman Ghani said that while the Pakistan Army has fulfilled its responsibilities, much remains to be done in the political and economic arenas.

Major (Retd) Nayyar Shahzad concluded the event, stating, “Allah has granted Pakistan success against India, and even President Trump has testified to this on numerous occasions.”
