Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan writes a letter to CM Maryam, emphasises severe disruption of daily life in these regions due to recent flooding
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 26th, 2025) Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider on Saturday recommended to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz that flood-affected regions in the province be declared calamity-hit.
Following his visits to flood-affected areas, Governor Saleem Haider Khan wrote a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, emphasizing the severe disruption of daily life in these regions due to the recent flooding.
In the letter, the Punjab governor stated that bridges connecting cities have collapsed, roads have been washed away, and people are facing serious difficulties in commuting. He further noted that the homes of poor residents, their valuables, and livestock have been swept away by the floodwaters.
Governor Sardar Saleem Haider urged the provincial government to take immediate measures to compensate for the damages and provide relief to the affected communities.
