Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirm moon of month of Safar not sighted on Friday evening
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 26th, 2025) The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced that the moon marking the beginning of the Islamic month of Safar al-Muzaffar 1447 Hijri was not sighted anywhere in Pakistan.
First of Safar would be observed on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
The announcement was made following a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs building in Kohsar, Islamabad.
During the meeting, no credible reports or testimonies of moon sighting were received from any part of the country.
Following the conclusion of the session, the committee officially declared that Saturday, July 26, would be the 30th of Muharram 1447 Hijri. Sunday, July 27, would mark the beginning of Safar al-Muzaffar 1447 Hijri.
A formal notification was also issued in this regard.
The astronomers had also predicted in advance that the moon would not be visible on this date due to its astronomical position.
