ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 28th, 2025) Pakistan’s top javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has secured the fourth position in the latest global rankings issued by the World Athletics Federation.

As per the updated rankings, Arshad has earned 1,370 points. However, his position remains unchanged due to limited participation in international ranking events this year.

So far in 2025, Arshad has only competed in the Asian Athletics Championship, where he claimed a gold medal with an impressive throw of 86.40 meters.

India’s Neeraj Chopra continues to lead the rankings with 1,445 points. He is followed by Anderson Peters of Grenada in second place, and Julian Weber of Germany in third.

Arshad is expected to take part in two to three more international competitions ahead of the World Athletics Championship scheduled for September. His team hopes these appearances will help improve his global standing.

It may be mentioned here that Arshad Nadeem made headlines last year when he won a historic gold medal at the Paris Olympics with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters, and earned the global recognition and brought pride to Pakistan.
