LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 19th, 2025) Pakistan’s top cricket stars are set to feature in the upcoming season of Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) 2025, as several players have been picked across various franchises in the league's international player draft.
Fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, along with leading batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, have all been selected in the prestigious Platinum Category, highlighting the growing demand for Pakistani talent in top-tier T20 leagues.
Making his BBL debut, Shaheen Shah Afridi has been signed by Brisbane Heat, while Haris Rauf will return to Melbourne Stars, continuing his long-standing association with the franchise.
Star wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has been drafted by Melbourne Renegades, who also picked young all-rounder Hassan Khan, making it a promising Pakistani duo for the team.
Meanwhile, Shadab Khan, known for his explosive leg-spin and all-round capabilities, will play for Sydney Thunder. On the other hand, Babar Azam, Pakistan’s batting maestro, had already signed with Sydney Sixers prior to the draft and is set to make his BBL debut with the franchise.
Additionally, seasoned fast bowler Hasan Ali has been picked by Adelaide Strikers, adding more firepower to their bowling lineup.
