From Pakistan, Mohammad Haris remains highest-ranked batter at 30th
DUBAI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 11, 2025) The International cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday released the latest T20 player rankings, and notably, no Pakistani player has managed to secure a spot in the top 10 across both the batting and bowling categories.
In the T20 batters' rankings, Australia’s Travis Head continues to dominate at number one, with India’s Abhishek Sharma retaining second place. Tilak Varma of India has climbed to third after a one-spot rise, pushing England’s Phil Salt to fourth. England's Jos Buttler has moved up to fifth, while India’s Suryakumar Yadav dropped to sixth.
Other players in the top 10 include Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka (7th), New Zealand’s Tim Seifert (8th), Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera (9th), and South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks (10th).
From Pakistan, Mohammad Haris remains the highest-ranked batter at 30th. Hasan Nawaz and Saim Ayub have slipped to 47th and 62nd respectively while Agha Salman, the T20 captain, has fallen to 77th after a two-place drop. Former captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are just outside the top 10, retaining their 12th and 13th positions.
The T20 bowlers' rankings also witnessed no Pakistani bowler in the top 10.
New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy remains at the top, followed by England’s Adil Rashid, who climbed to second. India’s Varun Chakravarthy holds third place.
Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga moved to fourth while West Indies’ Akeal Hosein slipped to fifth.
The rest of the top 10 includes Australia’s Adam Zampa (6th), India’s Ravi Bishnoi (7th), Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana (8th), Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan (9th), and India’s Arshdeep Singh (10th).
Among Pakistani bowlers, Haris Rauf, Abbas Afridi and Shaheen Shah Afridi have each improved by one spot, now ranking 19th, 20th, and 35th respectively.
