Olympic Javelin thrower says he will be heading to England after Eid for World Athletics Championship
MIAN CHANNU: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 2nd, 2025) Olympic javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has dedicated his Asian Athletics Championship gold medal to the Armed Forces of Pakistan, crediting the nation's prayers and family support for his victory.
Speaking to the media in his hometown Mian Channu, Arshad said, “I dedicate my medal to the Armed Forces of Pakistan. The nation and my family prayed for me throughout. Whatever the circumstances, gold is gold.”
He further revealed that he will be heading to England after Eid for the World Athletics Championship. “My coach will decide the next training plan. I will give my best and aim to return with a win,” he added.
Commenting on local sports development, Arshad appreciated the Punjab government for initiating the construction of a stadium in his village. “I thank the Punjab government for building this facility. I invite the youth to come and train with me,” he said, encouraging aspiring athletes to pursue the sport.
Arshad Nadeem recently clinched gold in the javelin throw final at the Asian Athletics Championship held in South Korea — a landmark achievement for Pakistan.
