PTI Senator Ali Zafar conveys Imran Khan’s stance, saying that “Imran Khan has made it absolutely clear that he is not seeking any personal relief,”.
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-May 29th, 2025) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan said that he is willing to engage in dialogue with the country’s establishment, but only in the interest of Pakistan — not for any personal gain.
Speaking to the media after meeting Khan in prison, PTI Senator Ali Zafar conveyed the former premier’s stance, stating, “Imran Khan has made it absolutely clear that he is not seeking any personal relief. The door to talks with the establishment remains open, but only for the sake of the nation.”
Imran Khan emphasized that he is ready to negotiate for national unity and stability. “I am prepared for give and take in Pakistan’s interest. I only want justice — and for my cases to be heard without unnecessary delay,” he said.
He further revealed that PTI is gearing up for a protest campaign, adding that a detailed plan of action will be announced within five to six days.
Addressing his sister Aleema Khan’s earlier remarks about a possible compromise, Imran Khan clarified, “If I wanted a deal for myself, I would have taken it a long time ago. My stance is clear — any give and take will be for Pakistan’s benefit, not my own.”
The PTI founder also issued a strong message to the party’s leadership, urging them to prepare for an organized political movement. “I will not tolerate inaction anymore. If no one steps up, I will not allow anyone to play on both sides of the wicket,” he warned.
In an internal party development, Khan expressed dissatisfaction with the recently announced four-member political committee in Punjab. Initially comprising Salman Akram Raja, Omar Ayub, Ahmad Khan Bachhar, and Usman Akram, the committee has now been restructured.
Imran Khan directed that Aliya Hamza be appointed as the head of the political committee in Punjab. The instruction was communicated to the party via Senator Ali Zafar, who was also tasked with informing Shamim Naqvi of the leadership change.
