The people have been suffering from hot and humid weather conditions for last more than a week.

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 23rd, 2024) The light to heavy rain hit Lahore and other cities of Punjab on Tuesday.

The rain brought relief to the residents of Punjab suffering from hot and humid weather.

In Lahore, the early morning rain was a welcome sight for residents who had been enduring intense heat. The rain affected various areas such as Abbott Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Shalimar, Garhi Shahu, Mall Road, Canal Road, Harbanspura, Sanda, and Islampura. However, the rainfall also led to power outages in several parts of the city.

Other cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Muridke, Gujranwala, Attock and Wazirabad also received rain, which made the weather more pleasant and cooler.

Earlier, The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued warnings of potential high-level flash flooding in the Narowal and Sialkot districts over the next three days. The NDMA highlighted that rain in the upper areas of Jammu could cause flooding in streams within these districts.

The NDMA cautioned that flash flooding could disrupt transportation and cause significant damage to buildings, crops, and livestock. Provincial disaster management authorities and local administrations have been advised to remain vigilant and take necessary measures to protect vulnerable populations.
