The armed forces of Egypt and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday launched joint military exercises in the Red Sea, the Egyptian military said

CAIRO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2020) The armed forces of Egypt and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday launched joint military exercises in the Red Sea, the Egyptian military said.

The exercises, named Morgan 16, began at the Egyptian Red Sea Naval Base and will last several days.

"The training includes holding many theoretical lectures and training conferences, organizing an exhibition to provide weapons and equipment used in the training, as well as implementing many practical data and activities, including the implementation of several tactical ranges of the Special Forces for both sides of the various small arms, as well as the implementation of a raid on a coastal target with live ammunition with the participation of snipers' groups," the military said in a statement.

It mentioned that several Arab and African countries were acting as observers.

The drill is said to be aimed at sharing experience and learning about modern types of arms used by both countries.
