K-electric increases power tariff by Rs 3.37

Over consuming electricity units between 101-300, electricity consumers will be charge Rs8.11 per unit.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 29th May, 2019) The K-electric has increased the power tariff by Rs 3.37.

During peak hours, Rs21.63 will be charged per unit.

According to details, the power tariff has not been increased over consuming 100 or below 100 electricity units.

Over consuming electricity units between 101-300, electricity consumers will be charge Rs8.11 per unit.

In a major blow to those consuming more than 300 units, the power tariff has been hiked by Rs17.60. This per unit tariff will apply to the slab of 301-700 units. As the number of units will increase, the per unit tariff will also increase.

Those consuming more than 700 units would have to pay the electricity bill with Rs20.70 per unit.

On the other hand, the government would not charging metre rent or bank charges from next month.

The government has approved new electricity prices which will come into effect from June.

Meanwhile, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday approved 55 paisa per unit hike in the power tariff on account of fuel price adjustment for the month of April.

Central Power Purchase Agency Guarantee Limited (CPPA-G) in a petition had sought 57 Paisa per unit increase in power tariff for the month of April under monthly fuel adjustment formula.

However, the increase would not be applicable to lifeline consumers using upto 300 units, agricultural and K-Electric consumers. The impact of hike would be Rs.5.2 billion and it would be recovered from the consumers during next month.
