Former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has said he is not one who will backtrack
LAHORE (Pakistan Point News / Online - 23rd May, 2019) Former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has said he is not one who will backtrack. " I am not one who will withdraw. Take my narrative from street to street and from home to home. the workers who have stood with me in hard times are my asset", he said this during his meeting with PML-N senior leaders in Kot Lakhpat Jail here Thursday.Those who visited Nawaz in jail were Maryam Nawaz, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Khawaja Asif, Mushahid Ullah Khan, Rana Sana Ullah, Rana Mashud, Capt (Retd) Safdar, Khel Das Kohistani, Khurram Dastgir, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi and others.
The party leaders inquired about the health of Nawaz and the latter read out a verse as follows:" Ghalib Hamen Na Chair keh phir Josh Ashk hai"Baithey hain hum Tahia Toofan kaye hoi"Nawaz Sharif said one of his friends asked him to woo back party workers who have deserted party. I replied to them there is no room in the party who have left it in trying time. They will never be allowed to rejoin our caravan now. Future is for those who are standing with me steadfastly.
Nawaz inquired from party leaders if any body knows why I am kept in jail. I have remained prime minister for 3 times and chief minister for two times and I have not indulged in any financial irregularities. Countless allegations were levelled against me but corruption of not a single penny could be proved against me. The dictators instituted cases against me in the past too but all proved false, he added. I sat on chair of prime minister. A casa should be instituted against this chair.He directed the party leaders to remain in constant contact with the people. He assigned the task of reactivating party in Punjab to Rana Sana Ullah.
