Govt appoints Kamran Baloch as new finance secretary

The government has appointed Naveed Kamran Baloch as new finance secretary

ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News / Online - 23rd May, 2019) The government has appointed Naveed Kamran Baloch as new finance secretary.Earlier Mohammad Younus Dagha was removed as the secretary finance on Thursday, as per a notification issues by the Cabinet Secretariat, Establishment Division.Baloch has previously served as Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa chief secretary. Je joined the civil services on October 22, 1985. He was previously a grade 22 officer with the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), posted as Secretary National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Division.

The sources, however, said that Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh wanted to bring his team in the finance ministry and his appointed is result of Sheikh's wish.It is being said that these people are among the closest persons of former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and whatever the decisions the PPP government took they communicated them with Dar. They said the same practice was repeated when former finance minister Asad Umar took charge of the ministry.The communicator shared all decisions that Asad Umar takes with Dar and later they became part of media debate. Asad often remained concerned about leakage of his decisions. Following the situation, Finance Minister has made major reshuffle in the bureaucracy.
