MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd May, 2019) No dates have yet been chosen for a meeting of guarantor states of Syrian ceasefire and UN Envoy Geir Pedersen in Geneva on the formation of the Syrian constitutional committee, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin said on Wednesday.

The guarantor states are Iran, Russia and Turkey.

"It has been planned, but there are no specific dates yet," Vershinin told reporters.

The settlement in Syria is being discussed in several formats, in Nur-Sultan and Geneva. In addition, the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi held last year served as the first attempt to bring together a wide range of interested parties. The main result of the meeting was the decision to set up the Syrian Constitutional Committee that would work in Geneva. The committee would be tasked with preparing a constitutional reform.

The conflict in Syria has been ongoing since 2011, but in 2017 the focus shifted from anti-terrorist fight toward political settlement, return of refugees and reconstruction.
