PM Imran to remove three more ministers over poor performance

The prime minister will take an action against ministers showing zero performance.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 13th May, 2019) Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to remove three more ministers over poor performance.

Media reports said that the prime minister will take an action against ministers showing zero performance.

The prime minister has reportedly received several complaints against these ministers. Moreover, he has also received secret information about their corruption and assets.

The prime minister has received such reports against the ministers not once, but twice. The reports show the performance of two ministers and one special assistant as zero besides details of their corruption and increasing assets.

The prime minister, after consulting his close aides, has decided to remove these three figures. The special assistant who is considered to be a close friend of Imran Khan will be removed first. This will follow the dismissal of two more ministers.

On the other hand, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also launched an investigation against these ministers over secret reports.

Earlier on April 18, Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced reshuffle in the federal cabinet.

The announcement was made soon after the resignation of Asad Umar as foreign minister.

Abdul Hafeez Sheikh was appointed as PM advisor on Finance. Fawad Chaudhry who was the minister of information was given charge of Ministry for Science and Technology. Similarly, Sheharyar Afridi was given the charge of State Ministry of Safron while Muhammad Mian Soomro was appointed as the Minister for Privatization.

The prime minister had appointed Ijaz Shah as the interior minister while Ghulam Sarwar was given charge of Aviation Ministry. Power Minister Omar Ayub was given an additional charge of Petroleum Ministry.

Azam Swati, who resigned as the federal minister for science and technology last year, was appointed as the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.

Moreover, the prime minister had appointed three Special Assistants. Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan was made the special assistant to PM on Information and Broadcasting Division, Dr Zafarullah Mirza was assigned the portfolio of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination while Nadeem Babar was made the special assistant to PM on Petroleum Division.

Following this reshuffle, Prime Minister Imran Khan had hinted at more changes in the federal cabinet besides directing the chief ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to put their respective teams under the scanner.
