Bass strongly condemned the Taliban attack in Kabul earlier on Wednesday, which targeted the office of the Counterpart International in Afghanistan, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Earlier in the day, a powerful explosion occurred in the center of the Afghan capital, injuring at least 12 people.
"Strongly condemn Taliban attack against U.S. NGO in Kabul today. The targeted organization helps local communities, trains journalists and supports the Afghan people. For this, it is the target of senseless violence. Thanks to Afghan Security Forces for rapid response," Bass said on Twitter.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) also condemned the attack.
It is believed that the attack was conducted by suicide attackers and was followed by shooting. Then, the rest of the attackers entered the targeted building.
The Taliban movement has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to the group's spokesman.
