MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th May, 2019) The Pantsir-S1 and Tor-M1 air defense systems shot down 27 rockets during militants' yesterday attack on the Hmeimim air base in Syria, not a single rocket fell on the base territory, the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation said in a statement Tuesday.Head of the Russian Defense Ministry's center for Syrian reconciliation Maj. Gen. Viktor Kupchishin said at a briefing Monday that militants had twice shelled Hmeimim using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
"The Russian air defense systems Pantsir-S1 and Tor-M1 shot down 27 rockets, not a single rocket hit the base," the Russian center said.
