MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th May, 2019) Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the authorities on Sunday to carry out an in-depth investigation in the plane fire at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport and expressed condolences to the families of victims, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik.
"The president was informed about the plane accident at Sheremetyevo, the first figures for casualties. The president gave the necessary instructions to conduct a thorough investigation of this accident, as well as to provide immediate assistance to all in need," Peskov said.
"The president deeply condoles with all families and those close, who lost their relatives during this incident," Peskov added.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 had to make an emergency landing earlier in the day at the Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport due to the fire on board, which ultimately burnt down the aircraft. Russian flagship carrier Aerflot confirmed that the fire had been extinguished.
