MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st May, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discussed humanitarian situation in Syria, including in Rukban and Al-Hawl refugee camps in phone talks on Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement."During the conversation, humanitarian aspects of the situation in Syria were also discussed, in particular, the situation in Rukban and Al-Hawl displaced persons camps. Sergey Lavrov spoke in favor of the speedy return of refugees to the places of their permanent residence, for which the Syrian government had created the necessary conditions," the statement says.
Lavrov and Pompeo also touched upon some bilateral issues, including the schedule of further Russian-US contacts, the ministry added.
