UPDATE - Russian Military Rehearsing Near Vladivostok Train Station Ahead Of Kim's Arrival

VLADIVOSTOK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th April, 2019) Russia's guard of honor is marching next to the Vladivostok train station, with the military orchestra rehearsing as part of last-minute preparations ahead of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's arrival, anticipated in the coming hours, a Sputnik correspondent reported from the scene.

Roads have been closed off next to the station, while nearby bus terminal has been cleared of all buses.

A red carpet was, meanwhile, rolled out from the Aeroexpress terminal building to the platform. A security officer with a black dog walked down the carpet.

A motorcade with two black limousines has parked next to the train station. North Korean security guards stand next to the vehicles.

Parking was prohibited and police squads were also reinforced on Russky Island in Vladivostok, ahead of the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim slated for Thursday.

A day before, parking was banned several hundreds meters away from the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, the summit's rumored venue. Drivers are therefore had to park cars on adjacent forest roads or away from campus.

In addition, there is an unprecedented number of traffic police patrols on the island, which stop passing cars from time to time. Police officers are also present on the territory of the campus. The road traffic near the university is not prohibited.

Earlier in the day, Kim's armored train arrived at the Khasan railway station in Russia's Primorsky Territory, where he was welcomed with bread and salt. After visiting the Russian-Korean House of Friendship, Kim has left Khasan and now is heading to Vladivostok.
